How to make the biscuit sock
In a bowl, whip the butter with the sugar.
Add the vanilla essence, the egg and continue to work the dough.
Add the flour and mix until you get a smooth dough. Do not knead the dough for too long, this will prevent the cookies from cracking during cooking.
Wrap the dough in cling film and place it in the fridge for at least half an hour.
After the resting time, roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface.
Cut out the shape of a sock (mine was about 30 x 20 cm).
And make decorative molds of your choice from the remaining dough.
Place everything on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake at 180 ° C for about 10-15 minutes in a preheated convection oven. Attention: the small molds will take less and will cook at different times!
Melt the dark chocolate and use it to glaze a part of the biscuits, always of your choice.
Prepare the icing with egg white and powdered sugar and use it to attach the decorations.
You can decorate the sock as you like, associating shapes and colors as your imagination suggests, even coming out a little from the edges of the sock, if you like.
