Among the cookies prepared for the winter holidays are these biscuits sprinkled with carob powder.
- 2 eggs
- 200 gr lard
- 200 gr cream
- 200 gr caster sugar
- 2 teaspoons rum essence
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 700 gr flour
- 30 gr carob powder
- vanilla sugar, for powdering

RECIPE PREPARATION Dessert spirit biscuits with carob powder:
We put in the bowl of a mixer: lard, eggs, caster sugar, cream and essence. We mix them until the composition is homogenous. We will not be scared if the fat separates a little, because the dough will be homogeneous at the end. Sift some of the flour together with the carob powder and baking soda over the composition of the bowl. Homogenize the composition again with this mixture, using the dough arm. Gradually add the rest of the flour, adding enough to make a slightly firm and non-sticky dough. Transfer the dough for the biscuits sprinkled with carob powder in a bag of cling film and let it cool for an hour. Then we assemble the form for biscuits sprinkled on the meat grinder. Pass the dough through the mincer and implicitly through the biscuit form and break the 7-8 cm long strips of dough. We place them in the tray lined with baking paper, at distances of about 1 cm. Put the tray in the oven for 10-12 minutes, at 180 degrees, or until the cracked biscuits start to brown slightly on the edges. May it be useful to you!
Serve lightly powdered with vanilla sugar.
We can keep them in metal boxes with lids for about two weeks.
If you do not like the lard, use instead of 200 gr lard, 250 gr greasy butter.
